We just got back from a 7 day vacation at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort. The hotel is ok, but if you're going for the beach, don't go there. Beach was HORRIBLE. They have a huge beach problem and it's un-swimmable. We tried couple times, but impossible. they have installed some kind of sand bags to block the waves. Because of stacked water the beach was so dirty. We had to walk 15 minutes to get to a different resort next to Marina El-Cid, which was not comfortable with kids. We couldn’t use umbrellas and chairs in other resort beach , which was so clean. We were very disappointed. They have many pools, 2 of them are infinity pools. The main pool was getting dirty (you can find a bunch of hairs in the bottom). The buffets are ok , with repeating meals all the time. The Italian restaurant waiters were not so friendly, even forgot to bring many orders.
Something that you should know, the hotel charges a resort fee of $19 USD per room per night and that's not included in the package. The resort fee only includes wi-fi access for 2 devices only. So if you are thinking about bringing a laptop, forget about it. I would have appreciated to know this before. I will not come back this resort next time. I had much better experience with Iberostar hotel, which has nice and clean beach and pools with variety of meals.. If you will not change your beach you will lose a lot of travelers!!!
