The property is a time share and we were not aware. We had to move rooms on our 3rd day which was inconvenient with 2 kids. The shower/tub combo is very outdated but other than that, the suite was a great size. Not many restaurant options on site and no lobby bar. You had to go in the sports pub to get a drink after 5 or 6. Staff was great!

The hotel and the rooms have been renovated. The beach is nice and no issues with availability for chairs. The food is very average, even in the à la carte restaurants. The buffet is very mediocre and to be avoided. I don’t think that the supplement for All Inclusive is worth it. There are many good and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance.

I did not like that this resort is a time share. I wanted a place to relax and enjoy time with my family. When we got there the first thing they did was try to make us go to a class to buy the time share. When we declined, they refused to help us with transportation or anything else. The area around the resort was not what expected. Everything is over priced and not many shops or food places to choose from.

This is a wonderful all-inclusive resort for a family. The 6 of us stayed in an ocean front 2 bedroom villa that accommodated everyone comfortably. The restaurants were more than adequate and we enjoyed the meals at La Veranda restaurant with all thwe plentiful offerings they had. The location is very ideal to get to most locations around the Hotel Zone and beyond. Our 5 day stay went by very fast and we're looking to returning again in the future.

Overall had a good experience with this property but a few things I thought would improve it: 1. I thought things closed pretty early and I thought it would be nice if they were open a bit longer.. If you are looking for an all-inclusive where you can party to the late night hours this is not the place to stay. Its definitely family oriented which makes it a great place to bring family. 2. I would have liked to see more food options personally. They do have like 5 restaurants but most of them are not available for breakfast and lunch as they open in the afternoon. So besides ordering room service, the only option for breakfast/lunch is one restaurant that is a buffet. The buffets have lots of choices, but often the food doesn't feel as fresh to me. 3. The drinks included in the all-inclusive are more bottom shelf alcohol and they are generally pretty weak. Getting top shelf is an additional charge. But that is probably pretty typical. 4. Note, there is a government charge added to my account each day. its like 76pesos which isn't that big of a deal, but it is something that I didn't know ahead of time. Overall the trip was very enjoyable and if I brought kids I'd definitely consider going back here. If I was just going with adults I'd probably consider going to a different hotel. Staff experiences were all very good, the site was clean and it felt safe.

Staff were excellent and environment was serene, however, all inclusive was not inclusive, Surcharges applied to quite a number of items. Be ready to drop your room key for every services - not cool with that. Great beach and pools, the kids love it.

We love staying at the Royal Sands! The beach is incredible and the staff is amazing!! Resort is HUGE. The onsite store is so convenient. The food at all restaurants is delicious. The rooms are basic and simple but everything you need to get the relaxation necessary. Love that they have a gym and spa on the resort as well. Will definitely continue to return to the Royal Sands every year.
