Such an incredible hotel. It felt more like staying with friends. The owners came to chat with us at breakfast everyday and see if they could help arrange plans or reservations. Blessings, the manager, was incredibly kind. The area surrounding the hotel was nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at the beautifully stylish Underberg House with great hosts Anne and Bruce who were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Ideally located for sightseeing in Cape Town and walking distance to good local restaurants. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We would highly recommend this lovely guesthouse.
Good location, easy to find, about 40 minutes walk to V&A. Great views of Table Mountain from veranda. Large room, good breakfast. Great hosts full of ideas and information.

This place is pure perfection. Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable and spacious rooms/bathroom. The house is beautifully decorated. There is also a great selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We loved this area of town.
Traveling solo for the first time, I picked Underberg House based on reviews commenting on Anne and Bruce's special attention to their customers, I was not disappointed; they are the best hosts ever. Advice on sightseeing, what to do, where to eat, help with getting organized, etc. Place is conveniently located, far enough to escape hustle and bustle of Long street but a short cab drive from it or table mountain cable car (beautiful views from the hotel), walking distance from Boo Kaap, etc. Breakfast is delicious and made to your taste. Very nice Victorian hotel well placed in the area of table mountain. Anne and Bruce were very helpful and the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained.
Underberg House is a lovely guest house and Anne, Bruce and their staff made us very welcome. We can definitely recommend a stay there if you are visiting Cape Town and we will be going back there ourselves sometime in the near future.
On a 4 week trip we'd stayed in several great places but the Underberg Guest House was among the very best. Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, and super breakfast from delightful staff. And it has its own borehole for water in the Cape Town drought, though we were careful not to waste it. Thoroughly recommended.

I have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Cape Town much enhanced by my holiday accommodation.
The Underberg was spotless, the breakfasts excellent and one felt very secure (I was a lady on her own).
Bruce and Ann, the proprietors were charming and nothing was too much trouble for them.
All my requests were met with kindness and consideration. I shall point all my friends in this direction and can't wait to stay here again

Wonderful B&B in a classic colonial style building
We were given a warm welcome and made to feel like family. Our rooms were large, airy, very comfortable and equipped to a high standard. Breakfasts were well prepared and presented. All in all this was the best of our accommodation in SA. It's possible to walk into the town centre, but a taxi to the harbour side centre only costs around R60 - R100 (less than £6). There is off street parking for 3 cars at Underberg, so we were able to park our hire car. If you are not familiar with Cape Town, it's not to far to the main office for the hop on-hop off buses, and the red route which includes the Table Mountain cable way base station stop, has a stop a few streets from Underberg. It's not central but its pretty close, and away from the busy main roads.
Underberg House exceeded all our expectations. Beautifully restored mansion with comfortable rooms located in a safe and convenient neighborhood plus excellent service and a wonderful breakfast. We felt right at home.
Bruce and Anne took exceptional care of us - from arranging pick up from the airport to providing insightful advice over a superb breakfast every morning. The house is beautiful and enormously spacious. Super location within a short Uber ride or a reasonable walk to all the top attractions that Cape Town has to offer.
