Upon arrival, I did not receive my warm cookie that Doubletree is know for welcoming guests. The room needed some updating and more dusting. The room had popcorn ceilings which is troublesome for a few reasons. The maid woke me up at 7:30 am on checkout day to check if the room was ready to clean. Great location on the river and walking distance to Historic Durango.

The hotel is beautiful and high quality. Oyd balcony room was huge, very clean and comfortable. However we did not have anyone tell us there was handicap ramp to bring up all our luggage and they offered no help. So my husband and I, in our 70s, brought up all our bags by hand up 8 or 10 steps into hotel from parking lot because roly cart could not do those steps! That was disappointing, frustrating and dangerous. At these prices, (not quite $400 a night, including tax, parking , water bottles etc.) seems like they could have at least had a sweet roll to offer for breakfast! Hot coffee was available in lobby until 4 pm and we were given a good chocolate chip cookie each at check in.

No USB connection for charging in the room? Time to catch up with the world. Restaurant crew in the morning is very confused. Dated finish, old aspestos crumble ceiling finish. Sorry guys, for $400 per night (including fees & taxes) I expect 5*. This was 3*. I would have been been very happy at $160.
