The lodge has almost zero internet service. Could not upload a simple message. Room large but very dark with two lamps. Sheets were extremely knubby. Probably two years old.
Food horrible and service even worse.
Xanterra is the all time worst at hospitality services. Extremely high price for trashy cheap hotel level service, no internet, and food worse than any fast food, even the El Tovar was horrible in service and food tasted like Applebees on a good day
Only issue we had was one dinner & breakfast we had.one chicken fajita was made so big that the women couldn’t roll it closed. She hurried to wrap it in foil. We had to cut it up to eat it like a salad. 😔
The gam & cheese omelette was missing its ham. 😔
Room was lovely, clean, comfortable. Enjoyed the balcony in the morning and was convenient to have food available at the lodge. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again!
We were on a trip thru the Utah National Parks and decided to drop down to the Grand Canyon- which is absolutely breathtaking. Maswik lodge is in a convenient location to hike the canyon. The staff are very helpful. The restaurant is like a college dormatory- many different types of food, self serve, it's decent! The thing about the lodge (we stayed in the Maswik South) is that it feels like a Super Eight. It has no character at all. If you know that- fine. But if you are expecting any feel of a lodge- quirky, woodsy, funky- you picked the wrong spot. Especially for the price. Not sure we would stay there again. We did have a wonderful time in that area. Hiked Bright Angel, ate at El Tovar. There was an art event along the rim trail- we watched many artists painting the canyon. Very cool. Make sure you arrive during daylight. We just made it before sundown and were glad we did.
Maswik was an ideal place to stay. Great bus service if you don’t want to walk down to the park. Food options were great, especially breakfast and the pizza pub.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Property could use some updating but you can’t beat the location, just a 5 minute walk to see the Canyon.
