My husband and I needed a place to stay due to the power outage from Hurricane Helene(tropical storm). We need power to sleep at night…My husband has COPD and sleep apnea.. I have sleep apnea so we use CPAP machines to sleep.
I went online to desperately find a hotel to stay at… the only one available around our area was the Budget Inn in Greenville SC. So I reserved a room from 9/27-9/29. Gathered all of our things needed for those days… We headed there only to get there and there is NO POWER… We never physically checked in/sign any paperwork. We left and ended up having to sleep in our running car for the night… After all this to find out that they still ended up charging us for the room and took the payment out of our checking account 😡😡😡 WHAT?? How can they when we never stayed at the hotel??
They should have either put “no power” or “no available rooms” on their website to avoid people making reservations for nothing!!!
There were a few other people that had showed up when we did finding out the same thing 😫😫😫. I WANT A REFUND on a room that we never ended up using!!!!!!!!!!!
