Great place to stay for a NYC trip. Yes, it's not NYC, but it's 30 min by bus to Midtown, it's affordable, and spacious. I didn't drive this time, but I did last time and stayed at the hotel next door. If you drove to NYC and want a safe place to park your car while you use public transit, hotels in this area are perfect. It's a 5 min walk to the but stop at 30th and JFK Blvd, then you can hop onto one of 3 to 5 different buses that go to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown. Be aware these are NJ buses that you would need to pay via app. It's not bad, but it's confusing the first few times. The app and the Port Authority show some buses go to 30th/31st at JFK Blvd but don't actually go there. 3 times I tried to get on the 161 (?) at Port Authority and was told it wasn't going to 31st/JFK even though the app and schedule says they do. What? Aside from that, the 108 and 129 are pretty reliable. The walk from the bus stop to the hotel seems sketchy at first as it goes under the overgrown pedestrian bridge, but it's a pretty safe walk. Several people stayed here and went to Manhattan that I saw walking the same walk. We came here for New York Comic Con and it's great having a bigger hotel. The lobby is big and quiet most of the time too, so you can sit down there and work if needed. They hold bags for a small fee if you want. We decided to just wait in the lobby a few hours when we switched hotels. The only downside is breakfast isn't included, and it's not really "NYC".
