this is our favorite place to stay when visiting family over the holidays. The staff are so friendly and the rooms lovely and roomy. We have two German Shepherds and it is so great that they take dogs.We stay there most every thanksgiving

We were able to get some lemonade or hot chocolate at any hour. We ate at the restaurant with 10 family members. The food was very good, staff courteous but understaffed so the meal took a long time to get to us. Room was very clean, sink was cracked. Faint odor of cigarette smoke in Non-smoking room this morning.

The hotel is very quiet, set away from the main road by itself. I got a room with a balcony and it was a great place to sit and watch the sun set over the blue ridge mountains. Beds are comfy, bathroom was clean and well-stocked with towels. Staff was super friendly and helpful. For dinner, my friend and I headed into Lexington (12 minute drive) where there are many nice little restaurants, and enjoyed browsing the art and craft galleries there the next day - what a pleasant surprise! This is my new favorite hotel on my route from Ohio to southern VA. if you're new here, take note that the breakfast room is far down a hall, past the pool (it took us a while to find it). Breakfast offerings looked nice, but we opted to eat in a coffeehouse in town instead. This is just a plain, nice little hotel, clean and quiet, just what we needed! Thank you, excellent staff!

Front desk night employee Brian deserves 5 plus stars for his customer service. Front desk lady working during the day was not very friendly and was often not at the front desk. I had to say “Hello” loudly to get her attention and she responded rudely. Indoor pool heater not working so it was freezing cold and out of order.

A real value for the price! Only negative was how loud the doors from other rooms resonated in our room. We were near an Exit door and people used it at all hours.

I was actually quite impressed with everything except for two really major things. One, the person at the front desk upon checking me in did not tell me that I had to ask to have the bed made up and have the room cleaned every day so I came home after my first day it wasn’t which was a major disappointment and two, my first night there, my room was located very close to kids Party which was taking place close by with very loud pounding music. Otherwise, I thought it was a fine hotel.
