The staff are very friendly and helpful. The property was nice and clean. Easily accessible to the subway and a few blocks away from Times Square and Bryant Park. The room was clean and spacious for 2 adults and 2 teens. Would recommend to others looking to stay in NYC.
We booked a King bed and received a Queen!
Carpet was filthy!! Shower door handle loose
and rubber around shower leaked onto the bathroom floor, bathroom door damaged, room 1907 requires attention. Staff is excellent however nothing they could do as the carpets are to far gone. The hotel needs some maintenance and perhaps some updating.
Great location, not that busy. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and good A/C. Room was little small but it's New York City, all rooms are little smaller. Would stay again.
DO NOT STAY HERE! At some point when we were out for the day we had around $1000 and a credit card stolen from our room. We don’t stay in hotels very often so I didn’t even realize there was a safe in the room nor did I know how to use it. Two of the four rooms in our party conveniently had doors that did not close all the way unless you physically pulled them shut. When I reported it, the maintenance staff did come up and adjust the doors to shut on their own. However when the insurance company called to ask me about the incident they basically said if there is a safe in the room they probably won’t cover anything. Very disappointing for our first trip to New York City. Also the breakfast was cold every morning.

No pool.
Rooms very small. I had a room that had the cleaning supplies/linen closet that took away space from inside the room.
Location was convenient for tourists attractions….but we found it impossible to sleep at this property due to traffic sounds at ALL hours! Staff was GREAT, friendly and attentive…but the property itself is outdated and felt a bit unsafe. One working elevator most days…. so we ended up taking the stairs for our 9th floor room several times. Trash and trash bins were all over the entrance grounds ….making a poor impression when taking ride shares. The inside cleanliness was better. The patio lobby entrance is covered with scaffolding that we were told has been there for some time while they await permits to finish. Lastly, both our bathroom door … and the shower door were VERY hard to open and close. We eventually just left them partially ajar for fear of getting stuck. They are reminiscent to homes with foundation issues….so clearly…. a bit concerning. I wouldn’t stay at this property again ….and can’t recommend that anyone stay there until they fix these possible structural and cleanliness issues. Soundproofing would also be a MUST… due to the location. This isn’t a Times Square hotel….but you’d never know it from the sirens and honking horns at all hours. I hate to leave a poor review…because the employees were lovely….but a national brand like Holiday Inn should do better for customers and their employees too.
What stands out the most is the friendly staff, especially the Manager Henry, the breakfast, and the location. We did have one issue the first night that we checked in, but the staff/manager made sure the issue was resolved expeditiously, and even compensated us for the inconvenience. Customer service is #1 in my book! I rate this hotel an A based on that alone! We'll definitely stay there again!
