This has been my second time staying at the Millennium. It’s a very new, clean, and well-maintained hotel. Check-in was quick and staff was attentive when I had an issue with my bathroom light. The surrounding area is safe with shopping across the street and lots of places to eat. I will definitely stay here again.

We came to New York for my father-in-law's funeral. We arrived before noon and rooms were available, but I had to pay $100 in order to check in early. I think this is an egregious policy but paid the $100 because I didn't want to try to find something for my grieving family to do for the next 4 hours on the streets of New York. Once I agreed to the fee, you couldn't get me into my room because the keys didn't work. I had to come down to the lobby twice to try to get the keys corrected, only to find out that the battery was dead in the room lock. I was finally told by the front desk to go to the security desk and ask for help, but no one was there. Eventually, a door man asked why I was waiting there, and he called the security man on the phone. I had to go back upstairs and wait outside the room for a security man to come up and change the battery in the lock. He had to try three times since the first two new batteries he put into the lock were also dead. After we finally got into the room, we found that the phone didn't work. We needed a few things from housekeeping and called the hotel on my cell phone from the room. Also, the room needed serious updating. The bathroom, for example, was from the 1980's

They will charge you a facility extra charge that was never brought up by either Expedia or the hotel until you have already paid at checkout. This is total scam. They say to you it is incase of property damages but then when you’re waiting for that deposit and you reach out they tell you it is a facility charge. A total scam. Never got the money back.

This place could use friendlier staff and some freebies to offset the outdated appliances and grumpy front desk. I mean charging for bananas and coffee in the morning is just TACKY. Bathtub made no sense and goes boiling hot forever. TV makes no sense and is programmed to NOT go to regular menu but instead to some random screen with white noise housekeeping came to turn my bed at 9AM when I had just slipped out for a coffee.

The rooms were substandard. The box-spring was exposed and you saw the tears, the bead sheet was oversize and fell to the floor as well as the room was dusty and vacuumed properly. Hallway carpet was full of stains and the elevator was dark. no refrigerator or microwave in the room. this is standard in all hotel rooms. you have to request for this at a cost.
