Overnight in Oban
We arrived early and were able to park our car ahead of check in which was great. We booked an economy double which was clean, although a bit shabby in terms of furnishings ( see attached photos). The kingsize bed was comfy but had feather pillows that were dreadful and duvet which was too hot. The tea tray and toiletries were excellent. Our sleep was not good with the room we had (212) being on the 2nd floor at the back of the building experiencing noise for most of the evening and into the night of what sounded like extractor fans. These seemed to go off in the wee small hours and restart early morning, so much so we had departed pripr to 8am due to being wide awake after a restless night.

Oban adventures
A few nights with French friends sharing Oban and islands. Position of hôtel very good with private parking. Set on street in heart of town close to all services and ferries.

A convenient location with free parking. However, no meals offered at night and buffet breakfast overpriced. Lack of lift, especially for guests on second floor, definitely a disadvantage for travellers with heavy luggage.

Great location for touring Oban. Room was lovely, nice updated bathroom with great hot water. Nice breakfast offering. I'm a light sleeper so being on the front street I heard the patrons from the pub across the way the 2 nights we were there (husband slept thru). The back rooms might be a better option if your like me.

Handy central location for shops and exploring the town of Oban. Safe parking in the rear of the building - but spaces might be limited - best to park early. Friendly staff. Breakfast in roomy bar - we didn't use this because there are so many other options on the doorstep.

If you're on the bigger size this hotel won't be a good choice. My husband and myself could barely get into the glass shower, and were unable to turn around once inside. The pillows were so flat they were basically small sheets. The bed was not comfortable either. Staff was friendly and very helpful! The room was clean. It's in a great area with lots of shops and is close to the bay. It was a safe place to stay in. Three stars due to the inability to use the shower and uncomfortable sleeping setup.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Scott. Nice and clean room. Great shower and loved the soaps and shampoos provided. Also, the hair dryer was a very nice one. We could hear a little coming and going of people but it’s an older building and we rolled with it.
