The Day before I requested a room upstairs to have a better ocean view and this was not honored. By the time a checked in there were no second floor rooms. And the front desk knew I was coming back And last Sunday we had a power outage for 6 hours (was there on a separate reservation). No $$ discount given after it was promised

I paid extra to get an upgrade to a deluxe room. It was not my idea of deluxe. The carpet was worn and I concluded that it was dirty because when I stepped into the room, it smelled like somebody had just smoked pot. The smell was still there in the morning when I woke up and the window had been open all night. The hotel is old and dated, so it felt a little dirty. I am fine to stay a night in a hotel like that if I pay $79, but I paid $250 for one night. Not what I expected.

The restaurant has amazing food. We had dinner and breakfast, both food choices were tasty and portion were generous. The staff were attentive. We love how close it is to the ocean. We enjoyed the time sitting next to the fire pit while watching the waves. Unfortunately, the rooms definitely need some updating. People left half eaten beef jerky inside the free drawer and we saw a cockroach. :(

Our stay was wonderful. The first day we did not have hot water. But they were so quick to accommodate us for a discount or a upgrade on a Oceanview room.

Cavalier never disappoints! The balcony ocean front rooms with fireplace and rocking chairs are a delight. We stay 3-4 times a year and love it just as much each time.

We loved this hotel. The people were friendly, the restaurant was good (you can’t miss the Navajo Fry Bread), the bed was comfortable. The only downside was the caution to take your valuables out of your car because of vandalism in the stress. We do that anyway. But, I’d definitely recommend the location. Did I mention it’s dog-friendly? Also, there’s a really great gift shop with gifts relevant to the area’s Native American heritage and culture.
