Unexpected Deposit was 4x the room rate
The associate at the front desk was very pleasant and the property itself was as described. My reason for the 3 star rating is due to the unexpected deposit I was required to pay in order to stay. I had to pay $250 (refundable upon inspection after check out) in order to keep my reservation as planned. I had to pay more than 3 times the rate of my room, just to be able to keep my room. I was fortunate I had the funds, but that was only due to timing. This fee was never disclosed to me, and was "because I'm a local resident." I won't be returning to this location for this reason, which is unfortunate because I enjoyed my stay otherwise.

The whole places smells like its masking cig smoke
The first room we were checked in to smelled so perfumy and heavily frangranced that it gave my husband and I a headache and started giving us a sore throat. It smelled like a grandma who smoked lived in that room and you tried to mask the smoke smell with her perfume. We finally got moved to a different room and it just smelled very strongly of wood polish, which was an upgrade but still not ideal. The beds felt very old and worn down or maybe just very cheap. Will not be staying here again, dispite the sign out front that said the rooms had been newly renovated. The 2 ladies at the front desk were very kind and helpful but they told us they were helping out from the hotel next door. But I'm so happy they were there because she said the normal lady would be mad that she moved us to a new room.
