Lovely retro hotel.
Very pleasant retro hotel, bit frayed around the edges but clean and comfortable plus excellent breakfast, nice bath and sauna on roof. Plenty off spaces to sit and relax, great location and friendly efficient staff.

We were a family of four with kids 9 and 4. We had to adjust the living area to accommodate our needs better (2 suitcases and a car seat), but once that was done, it was fine (we moved the table against the wall and had just 2 sides for seating). Our room had a pond/fountain nested into the corner, which we didn't use and would've have simply preferred it to be extra space. We did enjoy our personal soaking tub, but it drained while soaking, despite having the plug in. It does have elevators, but the doors shut quickly, so be careful. While we enjoyed its close proximity to Akihabara, it is on a graded street, so you'll have to walk uphill when returning. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the daily breakfast and its variety of options. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay that felt like you were being hosted by a local family. It's probably a bit too small for a family with older kids, but with our smaller kids, it worked out fine. Thanks!

Great little old style Ryokan with Onsen (Sento) and men's Sauna. A bit dated, but that makes it charming. The rooms are good size compared to a typical biz hotel in the city. Nice big area for bathtub/shower in your room. The onsen are pretty basic but nice. The outdoor bath was very enjoyable for me. Unfortunately the location is not really by much local transportation (trains). A couple conbini not terribly far away. But right around the corner is a full grocery store (Summit - サミットスト). The grocery had all kind of wonderfully prepared food as well. So I could use the microwave at the hotel. I also got McDonalds delivered in like 13 minutes one night. Staff had good to great English, and we got everything figured out, even with my lack of/or lazy Japanese. Super friendly and helpful, every time. I shipped my luggage with delay to my next hotel. Coin laundry on site but I didn't use it. Outdoor patio on the 6th floor. You also get a ticket for breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door (Kosetsu - 古拙). Lots of great and fresh options. The Corn Soup was amazing! Big on the shumai as well. Tall People : Beware the low door openings. :)

Very pleasant traditional Japanese room. Futons on the floor for sleeping and low table for eating. Tatami mat floors. Only issue was a very small bathroom but manageable. Very nice outdoor onsen!

A very traditional feel of Japan. But traditional does not always need to be old. The hotel needs update. Staffs are friendly. Morning Breakfast does not have much choose. The location is OK. It is about 10 minutes walk from Akihabara and 15 minutes from Ueno. the hotel is also on a small hill. If you walking with luggage, take a taxi is better.

Friendly and helpful staff, very accommodating . We lost a wallet which they helped us retrieve, with all its contents. The rooftop onzen is great after a long day of sightseeing!
