I want to start by saying that I didn't do my research. I didn't realize that Reside was not a typical hotel--but more of an apartment building, I guess? Even with that caveat, it was not a good experience. The staff did their best, but it's clear that this property is not set up for the casual traveler.
Upon first arrival, I couldn't get in the front door. So I stood on the sidewalk calling the number and trying a code that was sent to me. Nothing worked. Eventually someone came out and let me in. I was told I couldn't check in early without an extra fee. I have never heard of this and this was not communicated to me. It was 12:30pm and the hotel was dead. So i decided to go do some meetings and come back. I came back at 5 and my code still didn't work. I was let in and the check in process was quick. However the code to my room didn't work. Then they tried a new code. Then they gave me a new room. 20 minutes later I was in my room.
Asked if there was an ice machine. I was told there would be an ice tray in the freezer in my room. There wasn't.
I told front desk that there is a low battery alarm on a smoke detector in the hallway. They said maintenance doesn't come in until tomorrow morning. So I got to listen to that for 12 hrs.
The room itself was fine & clean. The property is across from a dog kennel so I hope you like the sound of barking dogs.
At check out they said they would send the receipt to my email. They did not. It took two calls the next day to get one
